In terms of strength, notches up and down are the same, and sideways are different. There are three aspects of the actual design:
1. The up and down position of this axis in this mechanism
If the shaft is on top of the mechanism, the notch should face up, if it is on the bottom the notch will generally face down.
2. The width of the bearing seat and the width of the channel steel
If the width of the two is similar, the bearing seat should be installed on the side of the large plane. If the channel steel is much wider than the bearing seat, it should be installed on the same side. It is relatively concealed when installed in the notch, but it should be considered whether the things installed on the shaft will be blocked by the notch, and the strength installed in the notch is slightly inferior to the large plane. If it doesn't matter, then it's measured from an aesthetic point of view.
3. The case where the notch is facing the side
If the notch faces to the side, the strength is obviously higher than in the first two cases. Generally, two channels are used for horizontal support. This method is also a popular choice for general conventional designs. Generally, the notch faces the outside, which brings convenience to other parts of the installation mechanism and facilitates future cleaning.
